Compassionate, Neuroaffirming Evaluations

We believe every person deserves to understand their experience in a setting that feels safe, respectful, and validating. Our evaluations are -neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, and designed for adults who are seeking clarity, healing, and self-understanding, especially those who were missed or misunderstood earlier in life.

Whether you’ve always wondered or recently started exploring the possibility of autism, ADHD, or both, you are welcome here.

What to Expect

Our evaluation process is collaborative, gentle, and attuned to your lived experiences. We combine evidence-based tools with narrative approaches that center your voice and context. Every step is explained with care, and your dignity is honored throughout.

Session 1-2: Foundation & History

Duration: 1-2 hours

This first session creates space for us to get to know you and understand what brings you in for an evaluation. Together, we will:

  • Review what brought you to an evaluation and answer any questions you may have about the process.

  • Explore the differences between clinical criteria and the lived experience of neurodivergence. Note: A formal diagnosis uses the medical DSM-5 criteria. However, we acknowledge the significant limitations and pathologizing language used in the DSM-5 and the lack of inclusion to the experience of women and minorities in presentation.

  • Explore sensory profiles and social history..

We take a holistic approach, our goal is to discern what’s truly at the root with care.

Session 3: Evaluation & Exploration

Duration: 1-2 hours

This session focuses on building a full picture of your experience through both conversation and formal tools.

What we’ll do:

  • Review and clarify any questions related to screening tools.

  • Conduct a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, including your medical and developmental history.
  • Share initial reflections, curiosities, and insights at the end of the session to coauthor the final report.

This process is not about passing or failing a test, it’s about honoring your story with clinical care and curiosity.

Session 4: Feedback & Next Steps

Duration: Up to 1 hour

We’ll meet again to review your results and consider how they can serve your ongoing journey of self-understanding and support. This may include:

  • A compassionate review of the diagnostic report and our impressions.

  • Personalized recommendations based on your strengths and needs.

  • Time for your questions and reflections.

  • Resource referrals, including therapy, medication consultations, occupational support, educational accommodations, or neurodiversity-affirming communities.

This session may include a caregiver or trusted support person, depending on your preference. Our hope is that you leave feeling informed, empowered, and deeply seen.

I saw for populations I worked with an intrinsic need to be seen. Someone to hear them in a space that has long invalidated them. It became clear to me how much need there is for providers who truly understand the lived experience of being neurocomplex. I work with you to honor the unseen and invalidated parts and give name to them.
I approach care with a neuroaffirming and cultural lens, one that gives life to the full integrity of each person’s journey. Where all parts can have meaning. I don’t view neurodivergence as a disorder, but as a natural way our whole body system processes the world around it. I acknowledge how neurodivergence brings with it unique strengths, challenges, and ways of moving through the world and help you find YOUR way ahead.

Should I Test?

Seeking an evaluation for ADHD or autism can be a meaningful and life-shaping step. It is also a deeply personal decision. There are pros and cons to testing. Testing is not for everyone, to help you decide below are some reasons one may consider testing.

Validation of Experience

Many neurocomplex move through life feeling out of step with the world around them. Receiving a formal evaluation can offer meaningful validation, it helps make sense of lifelong differences in how they think, feel, process, and relate to others. Rather than pathologizing these experiences, it provides language, clarity, and affirmation for the ways their nervous system has always worked.

Access to Adequate Support and Resources

A formal diagnosis can open doors to meaningful support. It may provide access to therapeutic care, educational accommodations, and community resources that are specifically designed to honor your unique needs. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, these supports recognize the real challenges you face and help create pathways toward greater understanding, healing, and belonging.

Building Community

Understanding the way your system processes information can be a powerful bridge to connection. It can link you with communities of people who truly understand what it’s like to navigate the world differently. Being part of a neuro-affirming spaces offers more than support, it fosters belonging, shared language, and collective strength for advocacy, healing, and mutual care.

Future Accommodations

In both educational and professional settings, a diagnosis can serve as the foundation for receiving necessary accommodations. These adjustments are not favors, they are tools that help create a more equitable environment. From extended test time to sensory-friendly spaces and assistive technology, accommodations are designed to support your unique cognitive and sensory needs, making it possible to thrive without masking or burnout.

Empowerment Through Knowledge

Ultimately, understanding one’s neurocomplexity can equip individuals and their families with insight to potentially better advocate. It can foster self-awareness, empower informed decision-making, and support the use of strategies that enhance well-being.
